Focus - A lost art

Posted Apr 5, 2017 by Mathieu Chiasson

Nowadays focus is becoming harder and harder to reach. We have distractions all around us fighting for our attention. How to find focus with so much noise around us?

The first thing to do in order to achieve focus is to prioritize yourself. To find ways to disconnect, you need to let go of the world around you.

For some, this is easier than others but it is a struggle for everyone. We get notifications on our smart phones every instant of the day. Then even worst is that we get hooked on the feeling that we're missing something so we're checking for notifications even when there's none.

Distractions are the number one killer of productivity.

We're slowly loosing the notion of what it feels like to be focused on something.

I've taken the habit of working in distraction free environment a few times a week and the productive output during these time are 10 times more than when I get distracted both by my surroundings and myself.

Don't expect big results running on the world's schedule pulling you in all directions. Take control.
