BIRDS
BIRDS is an exploration on the meaning of freedom through a mixture of colours, shapes and thoughts.
BIRDS is a photographic journey of exploration and experimentation. All images were taken in the Spring of 2020
when the human world seemed to fall into pieces. While people were locked in their homes, birds flew freely about,
completely oblivious of the roaming virus.
Looking at birds during the day and exploring colours at night. Adding colours to otherwise very bland end of
winter scenery by blending various images together and adding my own artistic touch to each image.
The Book
A year later, I created a book with written words to give a chance to the viewer to explore and experiment the beautiful world of birds. The text is written in a way to let the reader interpret the images in his own ways while leaving the reader pondering on the meaning of freedom.

Process
Spring is a challenge for photography, the landscape is still in deep slumber from winter. But the first signs of life and color comes from the birds. I'm not a bird photographer, but I'm fascinated by those little creatures that I see every morning on my morning walks.
In early Spring 2020, I would bring my camera on my morning walks and take a few birds pictures. Many days I came home with nothing but cloudy sky images, while certain days had pleasant surprises. In the evening as everything quiet down I'd start experimenting with those images. Blending skies with birds. It created magnificent colours.
Method
All images were taken with my Fujifilm X-T2 camera. The final images are a combination of 2-3 images layered on top of each other in editing software (Affinity Photo). Various color blending techniques are used to create bright and vivid colors. Photographic images are intertwined with digital water color painting done manually using a digital stylus and pen.

OISEAUX
OISEAUX est une exploration de la signification de la liberté à travers un mélange de couleurs, de formes et de pensées.
OISEAUX est un voyage photographique d'exploration et d'expérimentation. Toutes les images ont été prises au printemps 2020, lorsque le monde humain semblait s'effondrer. Alors que les gens étaient enfermés dans leurs maisons, les oiseaux volaient librement, complètement inconscients du virus omniprésent.
Je regardais les oiseaux le jour et j'explorais les couleurs en soirée. J'ajoutais des couleurs aux paysages du début printaniers, autrement très fades, en mélangeant diverses photographies et en y ajoutant ma touche artistique.
Le livre
Un an plus tard, j'ai créé un livre au format magazine avec des textes écrits pour donner une chance au lecteur d'explorer et de découvrir le monde merveilleux des oiseaux. Le texte est écrit de manière à laisser le lecteur interpréter les images à sa façon tout en le laissant réfléchir à la signification de la liberté.

Procédure
Le printemps est un défi pour la photographie, le paysage est encore profondément endormi par l'hiver. Mais les premiers signes de vie et de couleur viennent des oiseaux qui entrent en scène. Je ne suis pas un photographe d'oiseaux, mais je suis fasciné par ces petites créatures que je vois chaque matin lors de mes promenades matinales.
Au début du printemps 2020, j'apportais mon appareil photo lors de mes promenades matinales et prenais quelques photos d'oiseaux. De nombreux jours, je suis rentré chez moi avec rien d'autre que des images de ciel nuageux, tandis que certains jours, j'ai eu d'agréables surprises. Le soir, lorsque tout se calmait, je commençais à expérimenter avec ces images. En mélangeant les ciels avec les oiseaux. Cela créait des couleurs magnifiques.
Méthode
Toutes les images ont été prises avec mon appareil photo Fujifilm X-T2. Les images finales sont une combinaison d'images superposées dans un logiciel d'édition (Affinity Photo), généralement un oiseau et un ciel. Diverses techniques de mélange de couleurs sont utilisées pour créer des couleurs vives et lumineuses. Les images photographiques sont entrelacées avec des aquarelles numériques ajoutées manuellement à l'aide d’une tablette et stylet numérique.
