Gifts are tricky. Do you offer something unique that will surprise but risk not being of the taste of the receiver? But on the other hand, this could be something they cherish for years if not for their entire life. Or do you offer something that you know the receiver will appreciate but will only enjoy for a short period, a restaurant gift card for example?
In today's world, we seem to want to explore less and less the first option and opt for the comfortable gift with no chance of true impact.
