Weekly Gems 5 - Wishing - Personal Brand - Beer - NotesPosted Oct 4, 2016 by Mathieu Chiasson
I hope you're pumped for the weekend! From what I've uncovered this week, you'll won't be wishing for a great weekend but be ready to have it. Plus you'll see the benefit of paying attention to what you do, what you wear and how you talk just to name a few things. Have a super weekend!!!
Passage from Think and Grow Rich I revisited this week
Here’s a short passage from Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill in the chapter in which he discuss desire.
"There is a difference between Wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing, until he believes he can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Closed minds do not inspire faith, courage and belief."
Darren Daily - Your Personal Brand
Here’s a good series on personal branding. Personal brand has a corporation/business type of ring to it but it’s just how we present ourselves. If you seek improvement and an increasing life satisfaction I strongly encourage you to watch the three following videos. They’re a great place to start your personal branding adventure. Next week, I’ll share a podcast with Seth Godin in which he discuss this topic among many other awesome stuff.

Favorite article I read this week
I love good and positive news. I don't read or watch a lot of news because it focuses so much on negative things happening in the world. And I don't need that.
So here a good news coming from Belgium. A beer pipeline! Yes, Bruges is getting a beer pipeline built since it was too cumbersome for trucks to get around the medieval town. How great is that? The incentive behind the project is to help preserve both the medieval heritage of Bruges and its beer tradition. Having been to Bruges twice, I can say both causes are worth preserving. Bruges is magical and insanely beautiful and Belgium beer is simply the best you can find. Cheers!
App or Software I use
Good for gathering notes on many devices. (They've recently changed their free accounts to limit to only 2 devices). I use Evernote to gather and save all the information I'm sharing in this Weekly Gems newsletter. I build each week's content as I read or see it which makes it real fast at the end of the week to take up everything and send your these goodies! Check it out.
