#MyWeeklyGems 12 - Jim Carrey - Visualization - Success - Today

Posted Nov 18, 2016 by Mathieu Chiasson

Hall of fame coach, John Wooden, is front page of the Success magazine for the month of November, his life philosophy is one of the best you'll find based on passion, harmony, wisdom and love. I've seen a lot on him in the past weeks and like what I'm hearing. I particularly love his definition of success, which you can read below, because it's personal to each individual and doesn't include any reference to wealth or status. His definition of success is applicable to anyone, no matter the circumstance.

Quote I'm reflecting on this week

"Success is piece of mind attained only through self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do the best of which you're capable." - John Wooden

Darren Hardy discusses this success quote in his last Monday's Darren Daily video. Even though John's definition is simple, Darren explains why it's hard to follow. Watch it here to learn why.

Video I enjoyed this week

In a 1997 Oprah show, Jim Carrey explains how visualization lead to his successful acting career. The process of seeing, in his mind, his future success each day. He even wrote himself a dated 10 million dollar check to motivate himself to pursue his dream.

Book Recommendation

Make Today Count by John C. Maxwell

By now you must know that I'm a big fan of John Maxwell. His life philosophy is so wise and thought out that its hard not to agree with his philosophy. Make Today Count is a very small book, it's condensed and right to the point but also include a lot of practical tool and concept easily applicable by anyone. I love that it touches on a wide range of life topics from relationships, attitude, values to health. A quick read with massive potential to improve your life.
